Infinite Arriving
You have not mastered anything. You have not arrived. You never will.
Sit with that instead of flinching from it. There is no finish line. No final state where the learning stops and you set the tools down and call yourself done. It does not exist. It never did. You have spent your life running at a line that was painted on the air.
That is why you feel behind. Not because you are failing — because you are measuring yourself against an arrival that was never real, and losing a race that has no end. Every day you have not "made it," you have carried a quiet weight of not enough. Put it down. You were never going to make it, because making it is not a place. It is a lie sold to men who need permission to stop.
You do not get to stop.
Mastery is not a destination. It is a direction, and the road runs out only when you do. Call it what it is — an infinite arriving. Always arriving. Never arrived. That is not your punishment. It is the shape of every serious life that has ever been lived.
So aim at the horizon knowing you will never touch it. Get better in all things, every day, with no finish attached. Progress is not the path to the goal. Progress is the goal.
You will never arrive. Good.
Now stop looking for the end, and get back on the road.
"To travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive, and the true success is to labour." — Robert Louis Stevenson
