Infinite Pathways
You’re stuck. You count the paths you can see — the obvious ones, the well-worn ones, the routes everyone before you already took. You find them all blocked or wrong or taken, and you conclude there is nowhere left to go. But you only counted the paths that were already visible. You never counted the ones that do not exist yet.
The route was not sitting there waiting. Someone cut it — stepped off the worn track onto ground with no footprints and made a way where there had not been one. Every proven path you are looking at right now was once no path at all, until a person refused to accept that the map was finished.
The map is never finished.
That is what infinite means here. Not that the options are easy to find — they are not. It means you will never, in your entire life, arrive at a situation with genuinely zero moves. You may arrive at situations where every move you can currently see is bad. That is not the same thing, and the man who confuses the two quits one inch from a door he simply had not thought of yet.
So when you feel cornered, do not trust the feeling. The feeling is your vision reporting its own limits, not the world reporting yours.
Keep moving. Keep looking. Cut a new path if every old one is closed.
There is always a way.
Your inability to see it is not proof that it is not there.
"The question is not what you look at, but what you see." — Henry David Thoreau
