Know Your Why

How well do you understand your reasons for doing a thing?

Do you act on impulse, or with intention? Is there purpose behind your actions—or are you simply moving without reflection?

Not every moment requires deep meaning. Some actions are small, routine, or seemingly insignificant. But even there, acting without understanding carries risk. The greater the task—the heavier the effort, the longer the duration—the more essential purpose becomes.

When the work is demanding, purpose is what sustains you. It is what steadies you when motivation fades and circumstances turn against you. Do not neglect the effort of understanding why.

Prepare in advance—both in thought and in practice. Clarify your purpose before the pressure arrives. When you do, your default response will be aligned, not reactive.

And when the moment comes—as it always does—you will not be scrambling for direction. You will already know how to move.

“He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.” — Friedrich Nietzsche
