Step Into It

The thing you are avoiding is not waiting for you to be ready. It is just waiting.

And while it waits, you are telling yourself a lie — that you have not decided yet. That the choice is still open. It is not. Avoidance is the choice. Every hour you do not step into the thing, you are actively choosing the other thing: the delay, the comfort, the slow quiet no you keep pretending is a maybe.

So step into it. The task you keep circling. The conversation you keep rescheduling in your head. The work that needs to be done and has your name on it.

Not tomorrow. Into it, now.

Because the real fight was never with the task. It was with your own mind — the part that negotiates, that finds the reasonable-sounding reason to wait one more day. Conquer that, and the task itself is almost easy. Lose to it, and no task ever gets done, because there is always another reason to wait.

You are not at the mercy of what needs doing. You are at the mercy of whether you can command yourself to begin.

So command it.

Conquer your mind. Shape your destiny. It starts with the single thing you have been avoiding — done today, because you decided to stop pretending you had not already decided.

Step into it.

"Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do." — Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
