Tired Thinking

“Fatigue makes cowards of us all.” – Vince Lombardi

Your thoughts are not always reliable.
There are moments when your mind plays tricks on you—when the lens you’re looking through is clouded by your physical or emotional state.

When you shouldn’t trust your thoughts:

  • When you’re tired

  • When you’re hungry

  • After 10 PM (when the mind tends to spiral)

  • When you’re angry or emotionally charged

  • When you’ve had less than six hours of sleep

In these states, your thinking is not sharp—it’s distorted.
Your mind leans toward negativity, worst-case scenarios, exaggeration, and self-doubt.

Decisions made here are often regretted later.
Judgments formed here are often inaccurate.
Self-talk in these moments is often unfair and untrue.

Pause. Don’t act on first thoughts. Rest. Eat. Wait until morning. Cool down. Reflect later.

Your best thinking doesn’t happen when your body and emotions are depleted.
Respect your biology. Protect your mind. Choose your moments wisely.
