universal rhythms
“The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.” – Joseph Campbell
Are there seasons every person must walk through in life? Do we all, despite our different stations in life —a mechanic, an executive, a monk, or the homeless—experience common themes, mirrored lessons in different forms?
No two journeys are identical. But it seems that certain patterns emerge, echoing through all of our lives in unique ways:
The search for meaning
The hunger for love
The encounter with suffering
The confrontation with death
The quest for identity
The battle with ego
The letting go of what no longer serves us
You will inevitably be shaped by external circumstances, but ultimately you are forged by interna yourl revelations.
All men look for a guide—a light to follow.
Some turn to religion. Others to philosophy, books, mentors, or idols.
But eventually, each man must learn:
No external source holds all the answers.
Every man must slay the dragons, love, experience loss, and let go..
Each man, in his own time, must close chapters—many chapters.
Is this part of the universal human rhythm? While there are not identical steps, but a shared cadence?
You are not alone when you are called to walk through the fire and to become whole is to know that your path, while only yours, is not walked alone.
