What Cannot Be Taken

“You have power over your mind—not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” – Marcus Aurelius

Everything you possess—your comforts, your status, your possessions—can vanish in the blink of an eye. The universe pays no heed to your attachments, nor does it seek permission. It cares not for how tightly you clutch what you hold dear.

In the vast expanse of time and space, you are but an insignificant particle. Yet you live as though you command control.

This realization shouldn’t alarm you—it’s meant to awaken you.

Do not place your worth in things that can be taken. Instead, anchor your identity in what endures: your character, your integrity, your capacity to love, and your presence in the moment. These are the true treasures.

Release the illusion of control.

Hold loosely to what the world can give or take.

Cling tightly to what you can carry with you always.
