No Mountains

There are no mountains without valleys.

You want the peak to be permanent. It will not be. The high you are chasing is defined entirely by the low underneath it — remove the valley and the mountain is just flat ground. The summit only means something because of how far down you were.

Stop resenting the valley. It is not the opposite of the climb. It is the thing that makes a climb possible. A man who demands to live on the peak has not understood the terrain — he wants the view without the depth that created it, and that mountain does not exist.

The lows are not a malfunction. They are the other half of the shape. Every peak you will ever stand on is built on a valley you had to walk first.

Stop waiting for the ground to stop moving.
