The Mask

Freedom has a cost. Most will not pay it.

The cost is exposure. Standing as you actually are, without the armor, without the performance, without the version you built for other people to approve of.

It will cost you. Friendships built on the false self will not survive the real one. Identities you wore for years will fall away. Some people will leave.

Let them.

What remains is yours. What remains is true. What remains is free.

The person pretending is never at rest. They are always managing, always performing, always afraid the mask will slip. That is not a life. That is a job they never agreed to.

Be unmistakable. Be unhidden. Be the person underneath.

Strip it off.

“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” — Carl Jung
